Just wanted to give a update on how Julia's testing went. The Allergist pricked her for 60 allergens, and she tested positive for 47. I would have taken a pic, but I forgot my phone. Her back was completely covered in huge red welts. Then they number each one of the allergens. I felt so bad for her. She was screaming because she was in so much pain. They made her keep the allergen test on for 15 minutes.
Outcome:
Not Allergic to any food! Yay!
Allergic to:
All Trees, grass, weeds, feathers of chicken, duck, etc.
Horses, Cat, Dogs
Cockroaches (Not sure why they test for this one?)
Mold
and some other misc. things.
When the lady was done, she joked and said she should of circled the ones she wasn't allergic too:(
Therapy
So we will be doing drop therapy. She puts a drop of her allergies under her tongue once a day, and hopefully within 1-4 yrs she will be completely immune to her allergies.
Our Insurance does not cover this therapy, so it will be 100$ a month.
Now our blessing from God. Early this week I got a email, that our loan company was doing a promotion for disabled veterans. They are going to lower our interest rate to 3.99% on a 30 yr fixed rate, and give us a free month of mortgage. They also are going to pay all the fees in refinancing the rate. This will cover most of the cost for the allergy shots. I love how God works these things out!
Aw - poor Julia! Hope the allergy drops work well and are helpful. Praise the Lord for taking care of the finances! :-)
